Tori Penso becomes second woman to referee a men's World Cup match

American referee Tori Penso officiated the Group A match between Czechia and South Africa in Atlanta on Thursday. She is only the second woman ever to take charge of a men's World Cup game, following the milestone set at the 2022 tournament. It marks another step in the gradual integration of women officials into the top tier of men's football.
