Africa Cup of Nations expansion from 24 to 28 teams rejected by CAF

A proposal to expand the Africa Cup of Nations from 24 to 28 teams has been rejected. The plan had been put forward by CAF president Patrice Motsepe in February, with the change intended to take effect from the 2028 tournament. A CAF executive committee member called it a "very bad idea".
