Durham Women Survive Folding Scare After Fresh Investment Secured

Durham Women's captain Sarah Wilson has spoken about the club's difficult summer, during which the WSL2 side came close to ceasing operations before being rescued by local businessman Geoff Thompson and a co-investor, who acquired a majority stake in the club. The club, ever-present in England's second tier since 2014, had issued a warning in June that it would fold without new investment within 21 days.
