Fifa's General Secretary Grafström Sounded Out as Potential Infantino Challenger

Senior African football figures have held talks with Fifa general secretary Mattias Grafström to gauge his interest in running against Gianni Infantino for the Fifa presidency. As many as 15 African federations are said to be prepared to withdraw support from Infantino at next year's election, despite Caf's executive committee claiming unanimous backing for the incumbent. A credible internal challenger backed by up to 15 African federations would represent the most serious threat to Infantino's grip on the Fifa presidency in years.
