Grimsby Town mourn death of recruitment lead Alex Hughes, aged 38

Grimsby Town have paid tribute to Alex Hughes, their player recruitment lead, who has died at the age of 38. Hughes, the son of former Manchester United and Wales striker Mark Hughes, joined the League Two club in 2025. The Hughes family described the loss as sudden and unexpected.
