Sage Keeps Crystal Palace Job But Under Pressure After 5-0 Brighton Thrashing

Crystal Palace have given manager Pierre Sage more time after a 5-0 defeat at Brighton, but he has been warned improvement must come quickly. The result equalled Palace's heaviest-ever loss to Brighton, with three goals conceded inside the opening 10 minutes. Palace have now let in 17 Premier League goals in seven matches — the most in the division. Palace's defensive record is the worst in the Premier League and the margin of defeat equalled a 70-year-old club record, leaving Sage's position fragile despite the brief stay of execution.
